Initiated in 2013, the LA Art Book Fair is a celebration and international gathering for artists’ book publishers to distribute their work, connect with broad audiences, and nurture new and longstanding relationships. We extend our deepest gratitude to MOCA for hosting us in previous years and for having fostered the growth of LAABF on the West Coast. This year’s Fair will continue to explore the breadth of artists’ book publishing through our signature programs such as the discussion series, The Classroom, and musical performances on The Stage.
With classrooms, exhibition space, archives, letterpress, and typographic studios, the new setting of ArtCenter will provide opportunities for the Fair to highlight the pedagogical and discursive possibilities of the art book format through special projects and site-specific collaborations.
LAABF 2025 continues the Shannon Michael Cane Award for four first-time exhibitors in the early stages of their publishing practice, as well as the Volume Grant, which supports the participation of four BIPOC artists and publishers.
In this next chapter, we are inspired by ArtCenter’s support of diverse, intergenerational artistic practices, and we look forward to working alongside this institution.
